With the help of my friends Ashley and Bri, I tackled item #85 on my 100 Dreams List over the weekend: to attend a St. Paul Saints Dog Days Game. Sponsored by Chuck & Don’s Pet Food & Supplies, the St. Paul Saints (Minnesota’s Minor League baseball team) host three games a year in which patrons are allowed to bring their furry friends! Included in the ticket package is a sporty Saint’s baseball hat and a gift for your pup (our game it was a collapsable water bowl). Baseball is not a sport I am necessarily “into,” I do enjoy attending a game now and then though. Sitting back on a warm summer day, rooting for the home team with some nachos and a cold beverage in hand, what’s not to love? While MN lost the game big time, I have to admit I paid very little attention to what was happening on the field, being way too distracted by all the adorable puppers. Dogs large and small were living their best lives at the Saint’s game. The game’s rules stated that dogs must be leashed at all times, and when seated either needed to be on the owner’s laps or at their feet. I was stunned by how many large dogs took advantage of that lap rule! We laughed as one of the gentlemen in front of us slowly fed his dog an entire ballfield hot dog. Willie was highly unimpressed at this! I drove home from the cities Sunday afternoon with a full heart, grateful for another lasting memory with my sweet pup and thankful for the amazing friends that helped support it happening!
